Kyrö's Choice 2025 Wood Smoke Single Vintage 2019

Whisky made from rye, born in a sauna In 2025, the twists and turns of international trade agreements banned us from calling our whisky made from rye by its English name. The Finnish language, however, wasn’t mentioned anywhere in the agreement – so we felt entitled to call this new release by its name in its original language. Its origins also show in the lettering of the word ‘ruisviski’, modelled on the wall inscriptions of Isokyrö’s church, built in the 1500s. Lasting values in turbulent times. The nose has tar, vanilla, pine needles, crème brûlée and menthol. The palate brings rye bread, smoked ham, honey, a hint of leather and vanilla sweetness. Finnish Whisky Day is celebrated every May with releases from Finnish distilleries.
